Laura Biagiotti in an exhibit in Rome
“HEROINES IN STYLE. Italian Fashion Dresses the Risorgimento”
Laura Biagiotti was delighted to accept Stefano Dominella’s invitation to participate in the “Heroines in Style” exhibit at the Museo Nazionale Romano in Palazzo Altemps that is promoted by the Province of Rome for the 150th anniversary of Unity of Italy (from November 22, 2011 to January 22, 2012) and endorsed by the President of the Italian Republic.
Laura Biagiotti dedicated her Fall/Winter 2011 collection to the Risorgimento. Her tribute to fashion celebrates all the energetic women, past and present, who have helped make Italy great.
Two Laura Biagiotti outfits on display pay tribute to Anita Garibaldi and are composed of layers of knit fabric and cloth. The cashmere jacquard patchwork Anita poncho comes in Garibaldi red to symbolize the importance of women in society. The silk dresses are draped with seductive asymmetric panels that end with romantic ruffles.
