LAVINIA BIAGIOTTI RECEIVES THE VEUVE CLICQUOT 2009 AWARD AND CHRISTENS A GRAPEVINE WITH HER NAME
Paris/Rheims, October 8, 2009 - Lavinia Biagiotti Cigna won the fifth edition of the Veuve Clicquot award that honors businesswomen holding important positions in the family business. These women have inherited responsibility for the company and have helped it to develop further in respect of ethics and social responsibility. The jury of the Veuve Clicquot Award decided that the “Grande Dame” of Italy 2009 who best expresses the values of Madame Clicquot and the Maison Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin is Lavinia Biagiotti, who was selected by “popular” vote through the blog of the Italian fashion magazine “Grazia” and by a “technical” panel that included Vera Montanari, the Editor-in-Chief of “Grazia,” Maurizio Belpietro, the Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper “Libero,” and Francesca Terragni, Brand Director of Veuve Clicquot Italia. Lavinia Biagiotti Cigna participated with 12 other winners from around the world at the official ceremony held in Rheims on October 8, 2009. Officially presented with the Grande Dame Veuve Clicquot award, Lavinia became an honored member of the “Friends of the Widow” network. The most exciting moment was the christening of the grapevine bearing the name Lavinia at the Clicquot manor in Verzy where the Grand Cru of the Maison is produced.
