Mondadori publishes Pronto e indossato written by Lavinia Biagiotti.
"The idea for this fashion recipe book came from a program I do on Radio 2 called "Brave Ragazze", with Michela Andreozzi and Federica Gentile," explains the author. "In March 2011, the girls asked me to create a fashion segment for their program. I thought about it and wanted to find a unique perspective. What's important is adding your own personal touch and creating a bit of excitement. That's how "Pronto e indossato" (Ready to wear) was born. It combines two things that women love – fashion and cooking – and also perfection and rapidity, characteristics that make the so-called "weaker sex" strong."
The author created the book to be like a good friend who offers advice and solves those little fashion faux pas and everyday doubts about style. It's a handbook for improving your relationship with your body, closet and clothing. With her vivacious, ironic, feminine approach, Lavinia Biagiotti talks to her readers, teaching them how to dress for themselves, to never wear something at random, and to carefully choose a nice piece or a fun accessory according to several very simple rules and little secrets.
The book presents "recipes" for any situation: from ingredients of the "basic recipe" to versions for work, getaway weekends, or the cocktail hour and even recipes "for seduction", "weddings" or "expectant moms". The relationship between fashion and cooking is the real soul of the book: "Accessories are the salt of the wardrobe," writes Lavinia, because they add flavor to the look, and the closet is like a woman's pantry…"that mustn't look like everything was thrown together in a crazy milkshake."
The book – in notebook format – is a practical travel companion for every woman: a diary to slip into your bag so you've got the precious ingredients of style always within reach. The illustrations of a lively fashion trainer, created especially for the book, accompany the texts with beauty and makeup tips, healthy eating advice, and the secrets of body language. An original chapter is dedicated to "shopping and more", with advice about gifts to give and receive, online shops you should try at least once, special blogs, and itineraries you won't want to miss in Milan, Rome, New York, Paris, and London.
Lavinia also includes several personal anecdotes and curiosities and practical advice such as how to remove spots from clothing, as well as short explanations about fabrics and the history of fashion, but she never forgets that "Fun and discipline are the rules of fashion therapy."
