Laura Biagiotti for La Fenice Opera Hous
Venice , 29 January 2016 : Twenty years after the fire that destroyed La Fenice Opera House , Laura Biagiotti remembers the donation of the Great Curtain in 2003 .
Made of precious green velvet embellished with thousands of hand-embroidered gold daisies,
it is considered one of the most beautiful stage curtains in the world.
The donation of the stage curtain, realized with the support of Laura Biagiotti Parfums and in collaboration with the Association ” Amici della Fenice “, was made in memory of Gianni Cigna, husband of the designer who died prematurely in ’96. Gianni Cigna was a successful entrepreneur and he achieved important milestones for Laura Biagiotti and for the Made in Italy, he was the first who brought the Italian fashion in China and Russia.
On the back of the Great curtain it was sewn a plaque dedicated “To Gianni Cigna. In memory of his great love for the city of Venice, the curtain of La Fenice Theatre has been restored thanks to a donation from Laura Biagiotti Parfums and collaboration with “Amici della Fenice”.
