Laura Biagiotti Preview Fall Winter 23/24

Biagiotti returns to the Piccolo Teatro of Milan to present the Fall Winter 23/24 collection with an immersive format which combines fashion, theatre, dance and digital art surrounded by the set designs of “Carbonio,” a work by Pier Lorenzo Pisano. The desire to explore new spaces and new times for women through fashion is the inspiration for the project of this show’s collection at Piccolo Teatro which will have digital format during the Milan Fashion Week, unlocking a new chapter with an approach which is evermore attentive of the sustainability and self-renewal according to the most cherished styles of the brand. It is the pursuit of the unexpected which is achieved through the use of Biagiotti fashion’s natural tools: cashmere and cloth. A journey through time and space which deconstructs conventional forms and rebuilds them with a new idea- The bambola dress, defined by Laura Biagiotti as the “spatialist dress” because it expands the silhouette in space, opens and becomes a dust coat, a skirt to wear over trousers, and loosens so it can be worn on men’s fabrics.

The collection converses with space in all of its many forms and interpretations. The sidereal which provokes curiosity, questions, exploration and openness to new visions, symbolised by iridescent fabrics that make the wardrobe shimmer. Sequins, expertly handmade crystal nets and metallic fabrics that alternate with the iconic Biagiotti cashmere, interwoven with lurex threads or embroidered with little golden studs. Even the palette is inspired by the colours of space: dark hues, moonlight and many natural shades from brown to beige because, surprisingly enough, according to a study conducted by Johns Hopkins University, the medium color of the universe is in fact a shade of beige. Metallic flashes light up the accessories: the iconic LB Bag is mirrored, with a laser made handle. The new LB Castle bag, with the brand style and square shape, is gold or silver. The sidereal boots and winter sandals, result of climate change, of which the cosmonaut Biagiotti is extremely aware and highly attentive, have the logo on their heels. The goggle sunglasses revisit the cult model of the ‘90s for a new “time traveler”. The collection then tells of the comparison with physical space, in which, even through a piece of clothing, one bears witness to one’s existence. It is by putting the extraordinary with the everyday and to make it last over time. That is exactly the Biagiotti cable knit, sculpted in 3D, alternating with cashmere net, comfortable low-rise stockinette stitch trousers, brassiere tops worn under “broad shouldered” jackets, because in the end, space is always a conquest. All that remains is to let oneself go to the inner space in which fashion becomes gesture, attention, the reappropriation of a moment in the frenzied unfolding of the day. It is the stopping of an instant, experimenting with the sensorial beauty of a cashmere coat with dancing fringe or simply putting a delicate taffetas bow on a belt. This journey ends with new spaces and new times: those to explore and interpret with open and curious minds. The pas de deux of Eleonora Abbagnato – Danseuse Étoile, Ballet de l’Opéra National de Paris, Direttrice del Corpo di Ballo e della Scuola del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma – e Jacopo Tissi – già Primo Ballerino del Teatro Bolshoi, Primo Ballerino Ospite del Teatro alla Scala, Étoile Ospite al Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, an encounter on the catwalk and the suggestion to cross the old and the new, earth and space with a renewed momentum towards infinity.

“I am thankful to be able to return to Piccolo Teatro, a beloved place, and to attest to the strength of a bond which has lasted 25 years, along with the beautiful synergy that unites my family and my company with one of the symbolic places of Italian and international culture in its evermore innovative and experimental vision. Our company has always been passionately committed to the appreciation and support of the cultural heritage of the country through patronage, restoration and the construction of a legacy for the generations to come, obligations which I have further strengthened in these years which have been extremely difficult for our country. Piccolo Teatro is much more than a theatre. It is a piece of history of our times and it has been a wager and living testimony of the Genius of Giorgio Strehler and of who supported and loved him in his realisation of this project. It is also a piece of the history of my life: I remember so fondly the devout and joyful attitude with which my mother Laura entered the rehearsal rooms of the theatre, always on her tiptoes, finding a vibrant harmony of art, of passion, of storytellingwithin the frenzied pulse of the fashion week of Milan.” Lavinia Biagiotti Cigna, Presidente e Ceo Biagiotti Group.

The models are wearing the new perfume “Laura Biagiotti ROMA Fiori Bianchi”.
