ROMAN RENAISSANCE
Laura Biagiotti SS 2021

For the first time in 55-years, Laura Biagiotti performs the pret-à-porter collection in Rome. The regenerating strength of Biagiotti is staged at Piazza del Campidoglio and is intertwined with a strong sense of responsibility and identity. Society finds new energy and strength to design the future from beauty. As in the Renaissance, two main figures are considered: the mentor and the patron. Biagiotti Group wants to underline both, that create value strengthening the bond with the territory and interpreting a local and global perspective.
Rome brings with itself a ferment of eternity, the same that Biagiotti’s fashion seeks in all the collections made of excellence, of everlasting outfits that overlook the future. Renewed lifestyles narrate a moment of deep change, a new way of conceiving the world and oneself. The result is a free and individualistic attitude of women towards fashion. A feminine universe introduced by Caterina Balivo – already in Piazza del Campidoglio for the first event organized by the Biagiotti Group in 1999 – dressing up again in Rome, an endless place that inspires and encourages change.

The Collection
Free, illuminating and long lasting. It’s Laura Biagiotti’s spring summer 2021. The show opens with an iconic Biagiotti white: a pure page, flooded with light, where to write a new chapter. Pleated drapery and Roman statues profiles are printed on Swarovski crystal nets. It’s the new beauty, with classic quotes, innovative shapes and techniques. Flashes of color appear, above all the green ones are visible recalling the sustainable DNA of the brand, turning into nude shades. A summer with a joyful will and way to live is always closer, while the most classic pieces imprison flowers in their rigor. A contemporary bride concluding the show, evocating the love for Rome narrated by the sublime Michelangelo drawing of Piazza del Campidoglio imprinted on the dress.
A refined style, made of equilibrium is back again; but be careful: never focus only on revivals, nostalgia, nor indulge in the false myths of lost elegance. If elegance triumphs, the kingdom evolves, transforms, adapts. The scepter today goes to a classic fashion, not too serious, feminine, loose and casual. The woman carries a message of self-confidence and natural savoir faire; dresses with extreme ease from morning to night, aware of her role, without ostentation.
They are dresses that have a history. Dresses that contain an emotion. Dresses with a soul.

Campidoglio Square (La Piazza Del Campidoglio)
The Campidoglio, heart of Rome, full of beauty and significance, will be a unique stage for Laura Biagiotti’s Fashion Show Spring Summer 2021. Biagiotti Group has in fact restored the Cordonata Staircase of the Campidoglio, designed by Michelangelo and the Two Dioscuri safeguarding it. A catwalk in Piazza Del Campidoglio, with an innovative format on Michelangelo’s design, demonstrates how fashion and Rome live together going beyond generations and centuries, shaping and recreating an everlasting Renaissance.

Lavinia Biagiotti declaration: “We considered to return and preserve unrepeatable masterpieces also to overcome the sense of impermanence of fashion: stones go beyond. We continuously fight against time and after all, fashion is a white page on which we can draw our future. The history of our company and of our family are deeply intertwined with Rome, in an alternation between ethics and aesthetics, the same one found in the major Renaissance families. Our love is narrated by Laura Biagiotti’s Roma perfume, which over time has become an iconic fragrance loved by millions of women and men worldwide. The success of Rome has allowed us to be the first ones in the fashion industry to do a major restoration in the Eternal City”. She continues: “I am infinitely grateful to the Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi and the institutions which in this complex scenario, have enthusiastically welcomed the project to host Laura Biagiotti’s fashion show in Piazza del Campidoglio. An international stage for an event deeply linked to Rome and its values, supported by a great sense of responsibility, taking care of people and of the territory. A special thankyou to Banca Intesa Sanpaolo’s partnership, for the precious act of patronage as the renovation of the Dea Roma Fountain. We share vision and commitment for our country.’’

The Opera Theatre of Rome
The finale stages a synergy of excellence that combines fashion and ballet with an unprecedented performance by the etoile Eleonora Abbagnato with 5 dancers from the Opera Theatre in Rome. The choreography was created for the occasion on the notes of Ennio Morricone, who accompanies the entire show with his admirable musical masterpieces.
It’s the Roman Renaissance in the name of beauty, fashion, culture, dance, friendship and above all, love for Rome.
